Let's talk about this high powered LED Face Mask
Chances are if you are reading this, you already know what light therapy is. So let's cut to the chase and start breaking down what makes the Artemis LED Face Mask click.
First off, it may very well be the most pricey mask on the market. That much is notable right away. But is that price justified? Let's take a look.
SUBSTANTIAL POWER
It's important to note the same model is used for both professional and at home use. With 1080 high density LEDS that you can certainly feel as soon as you put it on. There are 720 in the mask and 360 in the neck. You can feel a gentle warmth but it never gets hot which is a good thing no matter what setting you are on.
It is has undergone safety tests and approved in Korea with KC certification as well as CE (the European Union's safety certification) both of which have rigorously high standards. More importantly, the CE certificate is recognized almost globally. The United States has a similiar but slightly different equivalent called the FDA which only operates in the USA. This organization only clears devices in this realm. Approval is only reserved for class III medical devices which are considered high risk.
More On Safety
Light therapy is generally regarded as safe industry wide and in terms of skincare, it's more associated with the cosmetic side of things rather than medical. That being said, we have heard of people bringing up possible concerns for their eyes.
The Artemis LED Face Mask happens to have built in eye protection which many masks do not. They are there for just in case reasons and for those who may be more sensitive to light. That's very sensitive of them. See what we did there?
Fortunately for those who have dark spots under their eyes, the eye guards are carefully engineered to not cover that area. In fact, these areas can be specifically targeted while using the expert mode in their app.
The APP
The app and the amount of customization that you can do within is where the Artemis really SHINES. We just can't help ourselves while writing this. But wouldn't you agree we all need a little cheese in our life?
But let's take a look at the expert mode as seen in the image. Here's the scenario: We want to focus on anti-aging for our forehead, get rid of bags under our eyes, and clear up some acne on our cheeks, while making sure we reduce any nasolabial lines.
We can easily achieve this by simply tapping the individual sections with the color of choice we want. So we did red light therapy for our forehead area.
Then we selected green for the area around our eyes.
Moving onto our cheeks, we chose blue to kill the bacteria that causes acne in the first place.
Last but not least we went back to good ole red light for the area around our mouth and chin.
It's also worth noting anytime you select RED, Near Infrared (NIR) will also be part of that treatment! Just in case you didn't know though, we can't actually see NIR with the human eye, so it will be invisible and colorless.
All of this is still but a taste of what the app can do but is a clear favorite among professionals because they can customize it to their client's exact needs.
You can go on to select your time and intensity which you can do as little as one minute all the way up to 30 minutes. The intensity scale ranges from 1-10 and by default is set at 7. We would suggest you stick with 7 as a baseline and should you desire more after a week of use, you can bump it up.
Whatever you may decide, you can save it as a program, and you may save up to 5 programs to quickly select it from the home menu.

Diagnosis Mode
Feeling uncertain on which colors to choose? You can go to diagnosis mode and adjust according to your needs. In this example we got wrinkles we want to work on but not much acne or pore issues. We also had pigment loss so we wanted to focus on that.

Auto Mode
Let's say you know what you want to focus on. In this case let's say we spent too much time in the sun and had some serious redness going on as a result. We would then go over to whitening to reduce redness and let the magic begin!

Recommend (AKA Weather Mode)
Whether you knew it or not the weather and local environment plays a large role in our skin health. The app will automagically pull your local weather conditions as well as the state of pollutants aka "fine dust" in your area. All you gotta do is tap start and the mask will take care of business. (That temperature is in celsius by the way)

But we won't get into it all. Little perks like being able to track your own progress and history etc.
So how about operating the mask without the app?
Yup! You can do that too. All you gotta do is push the power button on the mask and neck device and simply select your color with a light tap of a button. When you do this, you are limited to the default settings which are 10 minute sessions and single colors. However, for many that is more than enough and makes it easy to simply put on and go.
NECK COVERAGE
Let's talk about the neck piece a bit. The majority of the masks on the market do not have neck coverage which is a huge bonus for the Artemis. You can use it entirely indepedent of the mask and it also covers your upper chest. Often the area you would see if you are wearing a dress.
It's definitely an important but often overlooked area of coverage. Naturally the skin in this area is thinner which makes it prone to the first sign of aging.
It is worth noting you cannot connect both the mask and the neck to the app at the same time but this is for a good reason. You won't need any additional settings beyond what is provided with the push of a button.
The Service
Their customer service is top notch as you would come to expect. Should you have any questions they are responsive and knowledgeable when it comes to this industry. Even if you need help with recommendations outside of what the app provides, they are more than happy to assist and make suggestions based off your needs.
We are thoroughly impressed and they even guided us through the app because we didn't read the directions (who reads directions anyways right?) Looking back at the directions, they do make perfect sense and are written in multiple languages for multiple regions.
Their Shipping Speed?
Almost unbelievable. Seriously. While they don't ship on weekends, the package arrived within about a day and a half to the United States east coast. They say it can take up to 3 - 5 business days (meaning week days), but that's probably more for wiggle room just in case. We're not sure how they get FedEx to ship it that fast from halfway across the world but it's happening.
Their packaging is certainly nice to gift as well. It comes in a sturdy box inside the cardboard box that it's shipped in. All contents are protected well with wrap so there are no worries about that!

Client 1
Top is before and bottom is after. This client didn't want to reveal the whole face which is understandable. Their focus was the fine lines forming on their forehead. We tackled this with Red light therapy and NIR together. You may also note some of the redness has been reduced resulting in brighter skin. Both yellow and green were used. This took place over 8 weeks.

Client 2
Left side is before and the right side is after. Got to keep you guessing right? This client's focus was acne. We applied blue light treatments at maximum intensity of 10 for two weeks. As you can see the acne has been clearing up nicely. However there is some redness to be addressed and that can be dealth with using the yellow light therapy setting going forward. It also would be beneficial to used red light therapy + NIR to heal up any acne scars that remain.

Client 3
The most dramatic of results. Clearly the before is on the right and after is on the left. This is 12 weeks deep with a primary focus on acne and reducing acne scarring. Like client 2 Blue LED light therapy was the main setting used. However, we also used violet/purple which is a combination of red and blue together. The best part of it all? This client is now way more confident in their skin. They trusted the process and remained consistent.
Let's Wrap It Up
It's hard to argue anything against this mask after seeing what we have seen. If you take your skin seriously as much as we do, have at it. The Artemis is truly an incredible device as part of your skincare routine.
We tried our best to stay objective as possible about this mask, but it's hard when you're excited how game changing it is! It's definitely light years ahead of the competition. The engineers in Korea certainly want you to have glass skin, but the question remains... how much do you value your skin?
